Kia Ora, my name is Roberta.
I'm Samoan/Maori (Ngāpuhi) and based in Tamaki Makaurau, Aotearoa. I have been married to my husband for 5 years and we have two very spoilt cats. When I am not out and about with my camera or behind my computer editing I love to watch anime and hail from house Ravenclaw.
I guess you can say I have always had an interest in photography, I just never knew it. I remember back in high school when I used to over edit my photos with Picnik then upload them to Bebo (cringe!), being picky with angles and composition with my photos on my phone to upload to Instagram, to finally picking up a DSLR camera.
Since then I have just been out and about pretty much just anywhere taking photos! I never really had any plans when I started taking photos, I just liked taking photos of how I saw the world. But when I did a family photoshoot for a friend and uploaded it, I guess it kind of just exploded from there!
What I love about photography is how a photo can really tell a story and its a journey I love to be a part of. Whether its witnessing the genuine love between couples, the connection through play watching parents interact with children, or the connection with the elderly and see how bright their faces look when their children/grandchildren are around.
I never knew the power of photography until I found myself behind the camera. People don't think too much of photos... until photos are all you have left of a loved one. Let me help you tell your story through connecting and create some heart warming photos you will cherish for years.
